The Driver

The global escalation of the pandemic has changed how we live, learn, communicate and work. For the arts and culture sector the current crisis has brought its own challenges. The British Council commissioned a new series of learning aimed at creative professionals, designed with input from experts and creative hub leaders from Southeast Asia and the UK. This project seeks to respond to the learning needs of artists, creative entrepreneurs and cultural professionals all over the world. 

British Council’s Hubs and communities play a crucial role in the global creative economy, with an intrinsic social impact. They contribute to boosting economic value, incubating product and service innovations, experimenting and challenging new ways of working and thinking. We partnered with Habi Education in the Philippines to win and deliver this project.

At Rewire, meaningful design is a value very close to our hearts. We are proud to have the opportunity to co-create with Habi Education on work that allows us to give back to the creative community. Our goal was to create a course that helps support and upskill creatives to design more intentionally and holistically.

The Solution

Responsible Design for Meaningful Experiences is a 5-module course that dives into concepts of inclusion, accessibility, and sustainability. 

Meaningful experiences leave an impact. They’re easy to spot because they create a connection, evoke emotion - often delight, and add value by meeting your needs, whether cognitive or goal driven.

To design responsibly and create meaningful experiences you need a design process that enables and encourages it.

The course looks at each topic through two lenses:

2. Products

Every creative professional, whatever their art form, can incorporate principles of inclusive, accessible and sustainable design. This will help create more meaningful user experiences leading to happier customers, more revenue and repeat business and hopefully create a community of creatives committed to responsible, holistic design - everyone wins!
